Sundown Adventureland is a theme park for families with young children. The Nottinghamshire theme park has multiple food and retail venues across the site in addition to staff areas.
The on-site restaurants aim to provide fast, quality food for young families so that they can go and explore the park.
The team at Sundown Adventureland were looking for ways to make the customer journey quicker and more efficient in the restaurants. The client had recently updated to a more modern EPOS system and they were looking to update their menu boards to make them easier to update.
They were also looking for an easy way to communicate with their staff in the staffroom. The client used to update a pin board with notices and rotas but they wanted a way to update a screen from the head office with notices for the staffroom.
Our team of audio-visual experts had multiple meetings with the team at Sundown Adventureland and completed a site visit to fully understand the client’s needs.
We manufactured and installed multiple digital menu boards for three of the restaurants at the theme park. These menu boards were installed above the counter so that customers can easily see the menu when ordering. We also installed ‘order ready’ displays in each of the restaurants, which link to the EPOS system to let the customer know their order is ready to collect from the counter.
In the staffroom, we installed three commercial displays that the client can use to display notices and rotas for the staff.
All the menu boards, ‘order ready’, commercial screens and staffroom displays are linked with our content management system. This is an easy-to-use digital signage software that allows the client to control the content on any screen at any time, all from any remote location. This software can be used to update the digital menus at any time to react to stock levels and promotions. This will also save the client time and money, rather than updating printed menus which takes time to send to be printed. The software can also be used to update the staffroom displays at the click of a button to ensure all rotas are displayed correctly for staff.
Sundown Adventureland needed a way to update their menus quickly and easily, as well as notify customers when their food was ready. We installed digital menu boards in three restaurants with software so the catering team can update the menus to avoid disappointment from customers if an item is not available. The digital menu boards can also be updated instantly from head office. This means the client can implement menu changes instantly, rather than the long costly process of printing new menu posters.
The new ‘order ready’ screens are linked to their new EPOS system to notify customers when their food is ready. This is being used to reduce queueing times and improve the customer journey.
The three displays in the staffroom allow the client to instantly update the staff rotas or information at the click of a button from the main office. This means all staff are confident that the information on the board is correct and the most up to date information.
With this full park-wide solution, the visitors to Sundown Adventureland have had an improved experience in the restaurants and the staff are confident in the communication from the main office.
